1. What does Regal Health offer?
As a client of Regal Health Services, we will support your health throughout the year and you will always get the same physician who knows you. As your advocate, we are available to act on your behalf if any health issues arise. Should any medical conditions turn up on your Comprehensive Assessment, we will investigate it fully and stay attentive for follow up throughout the year.
2. How should I prepare for my first visit?
To prepare for your first visit, may we suggest that you bring your immunization card, ALL your medications in their bottles, the name, address and details of any specialists, hospitals, pharmacies, or previous doctors that have information on you. It will save time if you download the Registration Form on the Contact Us page and fax it to us before your visit or fill it out and bring it with you.
3. What other services are offered?
As part of your client fee, you are entitled to consult a number of other allied health professionals during the year. If your cholesterol is high or if you want to lose weight, a consultation with our Registered Dietician may be beneficial. If the stresses of life are piling up, our Clinical Psychologist may be able to help you find ways to cope better. Other services available are Optometry, Audiology, Fitness & Exercise Training, Podiatry, Chiropractor, Physiotherapy, & Massage. Further visits would be billed on a fee for service basis. You do not have to meet with any of them or you may choose to see them later in the year if you wish. It’s up to you and the medical director.
4. How much time is spent with the physician during the Comprehensive Health and Lifestyle Assessment?
Several hours over two or three visits. The first visit is information gathering and physical exam. Next, testing such as fasting bloods, EKG, X-Rays, ultrasounds etc. will be efficiently scheduled. A follow up visit is later arranged with the doctor to go over results, answer questions, and discuss recommendations. This advice can be offered as a telephone consultation for your convenience. Quarterly mini-physicals are suggested to monitor your progress.
5. Anything else I should know?
Travel and Immunization Advice is not insured under OHIP. Did you know there’s Typhoid Fever in Mexico and Hepatitis A and Malaria in the Caribbean? The Centre for Disease Control in Atlanta recommends both immunizations as well as Malaria pills. Don’t ask your travel agent for medical advice! As a client of REGAL HEALTH SERVICES, you will be entitled to Travel and Immunization advice throughout the year. Some prescribing can even be done with a phone call and a fax to your pharmacy.
The office utilizes an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that allows a physician to access the patient charts at night or on the weekend. This is part of our pandemic planning. Medication lists, lab results or xray results are accessable by us 24/7. We can even run a computer drug interaction program for new prescribing.
6. What happens if I get sick?
Your personal Regal Health physician is available throughout the year for medically necessary services covered under OHIP. We are always here to serve you. We will do our best to schedule you within 1 business day of your call.
7. What about on weekends and holidays?
As a client of Regal Health Services, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by telephone.
8. What is the annual fee and what does it include?
The annual fee of $3,300 covers your Comprehensive Health and Lifestyle Assessment complemented by our broad range of uninsured individualized consultations. It includes a number of consultations with allied health professionals of your choice (dietitian, fitness trainer, psychologist, physiotherapist, optometrist, etc.), two home or office visit by our lab technician for blood taking, as well as other services listed in our brochure including our 24/7 emergency telephone advice. No other fees will be charged without your prior consent. However, if you should choose to continue beyond your three consultations or choose to have other uninsured services, these options and costs will be fully discussed with you before ordering. If you become ill, or have any health concern, all medically necessary visits and tests are covered under OHIP as usual.
